Dr. Sagen Woolery, DVM

    Dr. Woolery is the medical director and an ER veterinarian at BluePearl Emergency Vet & Specialty Animal Hospitals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree (DVM) from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She completed a small animal surgical internship at LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital in 2019.

    Dr. Woolery is a mentor in the BluePearl EmERge Immersive Training Program and is a member of VetGirlU, Broward County Veterinary Medical Association (BCVMA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA). She has volunteered as a mixed animal relief veterinarian in Bocas del Toros, Panama, where she performed 50-plus reproductive surgeries and in Todos Santos, Guatemala, where she performed 120-plus reproductive surgeries on two separate trips. She spent four months in the Galapagos Islands with Darwin Animal Doctors living and working with dogs, cats, and sea lions. Through BluePearl Cares, she lectured to 40 local veterinarians in the Bahamas on the topic of emergency medicine for island practitioners.

    Dr. Woolery thrives in fast paced, unpredictable emergency rooms and enjoys leading with compassion and expertise to save as many lives as possible. You can read her published academic work here.
